Friday Musings

Thank God It’s Friday! Even the day looks bright *does a jig* … The way I’ve anticipated the end of the week, maybe this month just needs to end, 5 weeks was a bit long … then August can drag a bit because I have so much that I need to finish up before it ends.

Highlights of the month

Happy End Month! Do I hear coffee and dinner dates *wink* now that guys are balling? I need to now look for all those people who made me empty promises yes you … coming to claim it! In case I’ve promised you, you can revenge too :p

Finally applied for Masters and I start soon. Then, I have concluded to myself that I have a voice for radio my ego speaks, now that I have talked on the radio twice … isn’t that an achievement? who thought I would do that, but coming to think of it, that would be the third time. However, I have not even listened to myself, maybe I was there well rep’ing my Meru mates *read Meru accent*…ha ha!

Random thought

People dying from hunger is not a new thing, it’s been there day in day out especially in the Northern part of our country, we keep raising funds and providing relief food … and by the way I gladly contribute and will always do. But really, what’s with the short-term solutions, I thought our country is made up of brilliant people who talk big everyday, have great ideas, run big firms, strike big deals … then why is it so hard to come up with long-term solutions.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former ~ Albert Einstein –> now we can see where he was coming from when he said this … lol

Other countries have and it’s sad how a country in the desert can be the one donating or exporting food to a country in the tropics. There are people definitely sleeping or munching on their jobs … where are all the strategists, logesticians *sp*, engineers, agriculturalists, MP’s … *continues thinking …*

I’m feeling

This weekend

Mmmmhhhh! It’s end of the month and I see parties … so I’m in it :) . Been invited for a birthday party (Happy Birthday @Jaxon09) that’s a good start. He he you can convince yourself with the “age ain’t nothing but a number” line … lol, but it’s nice to have a much older friend … that’s wisdom right there!

Happy pre-birthday to @mgitonga17 … still structuring a message for you.

I’m craving

This is just because I’m hungry, but what I would do to have the steers lunch box right about now, but I’m stuck to the food for the downstairs restaurant … they’ve become so *places finger in mouth*.

Songs of the week

and I like Adele’s – Chasing Pavements too!

I want and pray

I just want to say how grateful I am to have my parents … they never cease to amaze me. They can get to my nerves sometimes especially when they are asking a million and one questions about the different aspects of my life, but I don’t know what I would do without them.

I thank God for our parents, to bless them BIG and give them all the love, strength and riches in the world ok that’s pushing it because we (the kids) are sure going to need lots of that from them. They are like the taps with water and we are the super thirsty ones.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Lovely Weekend, Lovely Peoples! God Bless … xoxo!

Another Journal Entry

Seems like last Friday wasn’t my day really, even from my TGIF … then from another angle, it was probably my day. You know one of those days that you wake up on the right side of the bed like you do everyday especially if your bed is correctly placed against the wall but the only difference is that this day just feels wrong or down from the moment you step out of it! Maybe I should’ve slept longer like it wouldn’t have made a difference.

With Moody Mercy popping up here and there in the course of the day, the day ended with me witnessing two people (whom I don’t know) getting hit by a bus. My reaction was, trembling, holding mouth in shock and a huge wave of fear. I didn’t even want to look because that for a moment looked like a horror movie. So you want to know why don’t watch horrors? Not because I am scared ok that’s a lie but because I put myself in the position of the actors and I start thinking, what if it was me? what if that happened to me? what would I do, where would I be taken?

Besides learning to look right, then left, then right again before crossing … I would love to learn how to react after an accident, because clearly, I don’t feel like I helped in any way besides looking and feeling pity for the victims *sigh*. I don’t know if that’s a sign of regret, because to be honest I would like to know what happened to them … but because I did not help I’ll never know. I just said a word prayer for them and asked God to take care of them, because that just happened, out of the blues, unexpected … It wasn’t planned.

That’s the thing with life, we can plan so much and something happens that distorts everything. It could make you move 10 steps back after you had made an effort to just go 2 steps ahead. Do you ever wonder why it’s like that?

Why you would struggle to get where you are and just in a snap of a finger, it all gets demolished. You know how you can be playing a board game (scrabble, chess), then someone comes and dismantles your game and you either have to start all over again or try and remember how exactly it was but chances are that you’ll miss a thing or two because as you were playing you weren’t anticipating that someone will come and do that, so you were doing your best shot so that you can win in the end. Or have you ever typed a document and you’ve poured your heart out, researched, thought out and all then just before you save KPLC does what it does best and you loose your information or the power on your laptop dies or windows decided to pull a restart thank God for office word recovery and windows resume.

That’s the most empty feeling. You feel like you’ve just wasted your time doing all that, only for it to just get disregarded. Then someone comes and tells you; never give up or I understand what you’re going through and all the nice things that you don’t want to hear at that particular time, because only you knows the sacrifice or effort you have made to get there. Someone else could have gone through worse, but at that time you’re you, so you can’t feel how worse their situation is, but you can feel how bad yours is already.

Don’t you wish that life was like Windows that allows you to resume where you were if you make a blander or something unplanned happens as you were . Anyhow, this life again is just amazing and as much as we say make much of the moment you have for you don’t know what tomorrow holds. How exactly are you supposed to do that? We only have 24 hrs in a day, 10 hrs of which you are at work or school and the others you are probably up and about trying to make what is your life.

Then again it’s probably all in the mind. Maybe happy moments are just made up in the mind of course sometimes coupled with good people and good laughs. I mean when you think about it logically, you can go to a fun place, surrounded by the coolest people, plenty of drinks and food and it gives other people the impression that you’re having fun, just based on that fact … having laughs, smiles, interesting convos, eating much (that’s probably just me…lol) but deep inside you’re frowning … looks like you’re having that moment and living it up to others but to you, it’s just another way of passing time, it’s a solid plan to say the least.

Now that I think of it, that moment we all talk about, is all in your head/mind, it’s not about the people you’re with or what you’re up to? That’s what I was thinking all weekend, thanks to not having much to do. You don’t have to be at a kicking party to enjoy that moment of your life … I mean there are people who cannot manage to live like that but you can see how much joy they have.

Sometimes it’s hard to control our feelings … if you’re sad, happy, confused, joyful maybe again that’s also a moment of your living … feel it, experience it and move on to the next because you can only manage the heart for so long or at least you can pretend to. I tend to think the heart is the most disobedient part of your body, why the hell doesn’t it just get on with the program? Which also could be the reason a friend of mine on facebook posted the update below,

Dear heart,
Please do your work which is pumping blood and stop involving yourself in other things.
Yours truly, Victim

LOL … the heart just doesn’t cooperate! And I bet God knew that fully well. So lets just not deceive ourselves that we can live the WOW moment every single day, I think he factored in things like being unhappy, sad, disappointed :( … the difference is how fast we lift ourselves from those negative factors and notice how much life has to offer and how much time we waste on down-time … Just like a system only that we are living beings … Do you know how much you loose on your down time? You’ve probably made someone not smile, that’s a big thing you know … lol just kidding *not*

I don’t know where I’m heading with this, that’s why it’s just another journal entry … but all in all whatever happens in one’s life, there definitely has to be a reason that we can’t question? We just have to live with it and make the best out of it whether good or bad. Easy to say but hard to do … but it’s not like we are left with many other options to choose from.

So …  to an awesome week *cheers*

Friday Fragments

Thank … God … Its … Friday *zzzz……zzzzz…..* This is the first Friday that feels like a Monday *sigh*

Random thought

My workmates just asked me what I would do if I was a man for a day? O_o I will drink so much water so that I can get pressed and go to pee from different angles … ha ha then get depressed, because I am such a girly girl, guys will probably think I’m gay.

I’m feeling

This weekend

I don’t know *shrugs shoulders*  Sleep and watch movies is now in my itinerary! Let’s see how it turns out though …

I’m craving

This looks like it would feel great … I’m even getting the shivers. Now I need me one of these yoga moments … peace of mind nini nini!

Songs of the week

Have you ever listened to a song and you wonder what the musician was thinking while composing it? This is one of them and since I’m in a ka-lousy like mood … this one really suits me now. My best lines:

I sit and talk to god
And he just laughs at my plans
My head speaks a language, I don’t understand.
(this is a funny one, what if he does … lol)

I just wanna feel real love,
Feel the home that I live in.
’cause I got too much life,
Running through my veins, going to waste.

I want and pray

I don’t know what I want today … just there!  I pray for that lovely kid Rose Nasimiyu … if only she could be healed that would be the best thing ever. Basically for all the people who are sick to get healed (reminds me of my prayers when I was a kid).

Health is a very important thing, that we sometimes take for granted. So take time to thank God for the fact that you’re healthy. Simple things like breathing, going to the loo, walking … so sad that some people can’t just enjoy those things that look so simple to do.

Highlight of the week

Had the best weekend last week, a sleep over with the best people ever. Felt like I was with my 2nd family! It could become a habit.

The week has been a busy one, but a great one all the while. Few hurdles here and there, but not complaining. Now wondering wassup with the moody mercy today … alar! How can I just be bored, just like that, out of the blues *sigh*?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Some day everything will make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens fro a reason”

My 5 Links

Jeez! Who thought this will be the hardest activity of all times? I can barely remember half the things I’ve written … and maybe when I writing I was going through something and right now I don’t really want to revisit it, or someone to read it and think … hmmm! *scratches head*… @Egichomo why did you ask for just 5 links and the way I have way over 100? I wish it was listing a couple of them under the 5 categories :p . Thanks for the tag @Mwirigi

Okay, let me try and see if I can do this *going down memory lane* and on to my 5 links:

My Most Popular Post : TGIF

That will be the TGIF posts, couldn’t choose one in particular. The initiator was @Nkirdizzle. I love TGIF posts because they’re structured and I am basically saying in not so many words the mischief I’m up to over the weekend, what I’m feeling and funny enough it gets guys reading *every Friday* —> Either guys are idle, looking forward to the weekend or something, but that’s the day I get my highest hits :p

Post that Didn’t Get The Attention It Deserved : Licensed to Pan

Sometimes I do get bored and as a ritual when I cook (since I’m eating alone), I serve and take a pic before taking the first bite. Of course, if there’s someone else I wouldn’t think of doing that… that’s such a queer habit, yah *don’t answer*… so one day I thought, why not make a post of all the meals and why I like them —> More like my first own pics post. Attention?  Not so sure it got as much.

Post Whose Success Surprised Me : The Powe of Tissue Paper

Hehe this post was so random, I just thought of the life of a tissue paper … and funny enough people liked it, I didn’t even expect people to read it to the end.

My Most Controversial Post : She’s not that into you

This post has gotten me in trouble because some people *points fingers to them* have read it and thought, hmmm! she’s done that to me, so she’s definitely not into me. And what I meant to say was, it means she’s not into you in that way … yeah thaaat way … but you could probably make a good friend, if that makes it sound any better … lol

Post I Am Most Proud Of : The Elusive

That would be the very first post I did. The day I got the courage to start up a blog, it’s the first thing I had to write … clearly we now know that I’m such a typical girl *not* … lol

As I pass #My5Links? to my blog mates, sharing is caring :) Enjoy pondering your blog and coming up with thee 5 links.

Get Inspired

Today was one of those day’s I was thinking I need to read something interesting, more like something that’ll add value to my life in one way or another. And guess what I stumbled across : http://zenhabits.net/38/ - Leo Babauta shares a handful of lessons he’s learnt in his 38yrs and the post serves as a helpful guide for those just starting out (for example…me). Here’s goes:

1. Always swallow your pride to say you’re sorry. Being too proud to apologize is never worth it — your relationship suffers for no good benefit.

2. Possessions are worse than worthless — they’re harmful. They add no value to your life, and cost you everything. Not just the money required to buy them, but the time and money spent shopping for them, maintaining them, worrying about them, insuring them, fixing them, etc.

3. Slow down. Rushing is rarely worth it. Life is better enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

4. Goals aren’t as important as we think. Try working without them for a week. Turns out, you can do amazing things without goals. And you don’t have to manage them, cutting out on some of the bureaucracy of your life. You’re less stressed without goals, and you’re freer to choose paths you couldn’t have foreseen without them.

5. The moment is all there is. All our worries and plans about the future, all our replaying of things that happened in the past — it’s all in our heads, and it just distracts us from fully living right now. Let go of all that, and just focus on what you’re doing, right at this moment. In this way, any activity can be meditation.

6. When your child asks for your attention, always grant it. Give your child your full attention, and instead of being annoyed at the interruption, be grateful for the reminder to spend time with someone you love.

7. Don’t go into debt. That includes credit card debt, student debt, home debt, personal loans, auto loans. We think they’re necessary but they’re not, at all. They cause more headaches than they’re worth, they can ruin lives, and they cost us way more than we get. Spend less than you earn, go without until you have the money.

8. I’m not cool, and I’m cool with that. I wasted a lot of energy when I was younger worrying about being cool. It’s way more fun to forget about that, and just be yourself.

9. The only kind of marketing you need is an amazing product. If it’s good, people will spread the word for you. All other kind of marketing is disingenuous.

10. Never send an email or message that’s unfit for the eyes of the world. In this digital age, you never know what might slip into public view.

11. You can’t motivate people. The best you can hope for is to inspire them with your actions. People who think they can use behavioral “science” or management techniques have not spent enough time on the receiving end of either.

12. If you find yourself swimming with all the other fish, go the other way. They don’t know where they’re going either.

13. You will miss a ton, but that’s OK. We’re so caught up in trying to do everything, experience all the essential things, not miss out on anything important … that we forget the simple fact that we cannot experience everything. That physical reality dictates we’ll miss most things. We can’t read all the good books, watch all the good films, go to all the best cities in the world, try all the best restaurants, meet all the great people. But the secret is: life is better when we don’t try to do everything. Learn to enjoy the slice of life you experience, and life turns out to be wonderful.

14. Mistakes are the best way to learn. Don’t be afraid to make them. Try not to repeat the same ones too often.

15. Failures are the stepping stones to success. Without failure, we’ll never learn how to succeed. So try to fail, instead of trying to avoid failure through fear.

16. Rest is more important than you think. People work too hard, forget to rest, and then begin to hate their jobs. In fitness, you see it constantly: people training for a marathon getting burned out because they don’t know how to let their straining muscles and joints recover. People who try to do too much because they don’t know that rest is where their body gets stronger, after the stress.

17. There are few joys that equal a good book, a good walk, a good hug, or a good friend. All are free.

18. Fitness doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long process, a learning process, something that happens in little bits over a long period. I’ve been getting fit for five years now, and I still have more to learn and do. But the progress I’ve made has been amazing, and it’s been a great journey.

19. The destination is just a tiny slice of the journey. We’re so worried about goals, about our future, that we miss all the great things along the way. If you’re fixated on the goal, on the end, you won’t enjoy it when you get there. You’ll be worried about the next goal, the next destination.

20. A good walk cures most problems. Want to lose weight and get fit? Walk. Want to enjoy life but spend less? Walk. Want to cure stress and clear your head? Walk. Want to meditate and live in the moment? Walk. Having trouble with a life or work problem? Walk, and your head gets clear.

21. Let go of expectations. When you have expectations of something — a person, an experience, a vacation, a job, a book — you put it in a predetermined box that has little to do with reality. You set up an idealized version of the thing (or person) and then try to fit the reality into this ideal, and are often disappointed. Instead, try to experience reality as it is, appreciate it for what it is, and be happy that it is.

22. Giving is so much better than getting. Give with no expectation of getting something in return, and it becomes a purer, more beautiful act. To often we give something and expect to get an equal measure in return — at least get some gratitude or recognition for our efforts. Try to let go of that need, and just give.

23. Competition is very rarely as useful as cooperation. Our society is geared toward competition — rip each other’s throats out, survival of the fittest, yada yada. But humans are meant to work together for the survival of the tribe, and cooperation pools our resources and allows everyone to contribute what they can. It requires a whole other set of people skills to work cooperatively, but it’s well worth the effort.

24. Gratitude is one of the best ways to find contentment. We are often discontent in our lives, desire more, because we don’t realize how much we have. Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, be grateful for the amazing gifts you’ve been given: of loved ones and simple pleasures, of health and sight and the gift of music and books, of nature and beauty and the ability to create, and everything in between. Be grateful every day.

25. Compassion for other living things is more important than pleasure. Many people scoff at vegetarianism because they love the taste of meat and cheese too much, but they are putting the pleasure of their taste buds ahead of the suffering of other living, feeling beings. You can be perfectly healthy on a vegetarian (even vegan) diet, so killing and torturing animals is absolutely unnecessary. Compassion is a much more fulfilling way to live than closing your eyes to suffering.

26. Taste buds change. I thought I could never give up meat, but by doing it slowly, I never missed it. I thought I could never give up junk food like sweets, fried crap, nachos, all kinds of unhealthy things … and yet today I would rather eat some fresh berries or raw nuts. Weird, but it’s amazing how much our taste buds can change.

27. Create. The world is full of distractions, but very few are as important as creating. In my job as a writer, there is nothing that comes close to being as crucial as creating. In my life, creating is one of the few things that has given me meaning. When it’s time to work, clear away all else and create.

28. Get some perspective. Usually when we’re worried or upset, it’s because we’ve lost perspective. In the larger picture, this one problem means almost nothing. This fight we’re having with someone else — it’s over something that matters naught. Let it go, and move on.

29. Don’t sit too much. It kills you. Move, dance, run, play.

30. Use the magic of compound interest. Invest early, and it will grow as if by alchemy. Live on little, don’t get into debt, save all you can, and invest it in mutual funds. Watch your money grow.

31. All we are taught in schools, and all we see in the media (news, films, books, magazines, Internet) has a worldview that we’re meant to conform to. Figure out what that worldview is, and question it. Ask if there are alternatives, and investigate. Hint: the corporations exert influence over all of our information sources. Another hint: read Chomsky.

32. Learn the art of empathy. Too often we judge people on too little information. We must try to understand what they do instead, put ourselves in their shoes, start with the assumption that what others do has a good reason if we understand what they’re going through. Life becomes much better if you learn this art.

33. Do less. Most people try to do too much. They fill life with checklists, and try to crank out tasks as if they were widget machines. Throw out the checklists and just figure out what’s important. Stop being a machine and focus on what you love. Do it lovingly.

34. No one knows what they’re doing as parents. We’re all faking it, and hoping we’re getting it right. Some people obsess about the details, and miss out on the fun. I just try not to mess them up too much, to show them they’re loved, to enjoy the moments I can with them, to show them life is fun, and stay out of the way of them becoming the amazing people they’re going to become. That they already are.

35. Love comes in many flavors. I love my children, completely and more than I can ever fully understand. I love them each in a different way, and know that each is perfect in his or her own way.

36. Life is exceedingly brief. You might feel like there’s a huge mass of time ahead of you, but it passes much faster than you think. Your kids grow up so fast you get whiplash. You get gray hairs before you’re done getting your bearings on life. Appreciate every damn moment.

37. Fear will try to stop you. Doubts will try to stop you. You’ll shy away from doing great things, from going on new adventures, from creating something new and putting it out in the world, because of self-doubt and fear. It will happen in the recesses of your mind, where you don’t even know it’s happening. Become aware of these doubts and fears. Shine some light on them. Beat them with a thousand tiny cuts. Do it anyway, because they are wrong.

38. I have a lot left to learn. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that I know almost nothing, and that I’m often wrong about what I think I know. Life has many lessons left to teach me, and I’m looking forward to them all.

By the time I was reaching no.38, I was like, now this is the life. Hope you also get WoW’ed and maybe you can borrow a leaf or two from his lessons learnt!

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Good day mates ~~~ *Kawi*

Friday Musings

How is it that on Monday and Tuesday the days are so slow then on W.T.F the day’s go so fast and on S.S (Double Sh%$…lol) , I can barely even feel it … then we are back to the same cycle?  But Thank God It’s Friday – my current best day of the week!

Speaking of which, you know what I miss! I miss life say 15yrs ago or more, I miss going home at 4 and watching cartoons and taking a snack, then going to play and being made to shower at 6:00 p.m … sleeping early (9:30 p.m) and waking up *after being pushed and shoved by the house-help, but not giving up on my sleep* and getting stressed about an assignment that I haven’t completed, then I reach school and complete it and everything is alright … I miss Winnie the pooh, Spiff n Hercules, Care bears, Sky dancers, Denver, Captain planet, Animaniacs, Gargoyles, Sonic, Ghost busters … Now if only someone could think of bringing those cartoons back on TV again … wouldn’t life just be beautiful?

Random thought

If  Monday and Tuesday were made weekends, then Saturday and Sunday became weekdays, I was on leave or on vacation —> Then I would really be looking forward to Monday’s, otherwise *no comment*.

I’m feeling

This weekend

A good home cooked meal and just relaxing … I think I need me a lot of that, after being up and down that’s the best I could give my body. Hopefully I can derail some people to join in … and I think they just read my mind … news in! :)

I’m craving

That cake from Baker’s Bounty … YUMM! That lady has the most awesome cakes, she bakes with one heart! Now that I’m not wild on flavors, and she said I have already had the black and white forest cake, I need to now try others … any ideas? She can bake anything :) that’s the best part.

Like her page … make orders then we can relate to why I love her cakes. Ps: very efficient and effective services too! And now that I know a white forest can be done for a wedding … hehe *disclaimer: not that I’m planning one, it’s just good to know*

Songs of the week

Oldies! I used to be a lover of rock, still am! On my play list —> Cranberries, Bon jovi, Bowling for Soup, Third Eye Blind, Bryan Adams, Breaking Benjamin, The calling, Casting Crowns, The Corrs, Cold Play, Fall Out Boy, Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Linkin Park, Matchbox 20, Nickel Back, Michelle Branch, Panic at the disco … just to name but a few … I love, love, love!

So song of the week is *drum rolls*

I want and pray

I want to thank God for all the blessings he has brought to my life, I take nothing for granted. I’m praying for my life … I would love to enjoy it to bits … hope that’s not so much to ask for :) and for those that are dear to me … God bless y’ll, far or near you make my life beautiful!

Highlight of the week

Went for a road trip with the most amazing of people’s last weekend. Went to a place I’ve never been, so that’s a plus! Now we should do more road trips and hopefully vacay’s. Cheers to that *as I raise my glass*.

Lesson Learnt this week

It’s good to understand where someone is coming from before judging their actions or ways then maybe you can learn to accommodate them for who they are. Yah! and maybe you’ll have more people on your “like” list ~~~ Courtesy of Kawiria, I hope this quote will go to Brainy Quotes some day … hehe

The Best Teacher *Mr.Experience*

Sometimes we think that everything we do is right? Like you know what you’re doing and you are confident that it’s the correct way. To be honest I always think that. Unless I am completely clueless about something, then that’s when I will agree to the fact that either I don’t know or I am wrong.

What made me think of this … It definitely has to be 8.4.4 exams. Oh, for those who wouldn’t know what 8.4.4 is, it’s the number of years a typical Kenyan should spend in the educational system i.e. 8 years in Primary School, 4 years in High School and finally 4 years in Campus. There’s all this images that have been going round for the longest time. What do you think the person who was answering the questions below was thinking?

I bet as he/she sat quietly in the exam room and decided to start tackling this math questions, he thought, “How easy could maths get?”, as in the lecturer is asking as the simplest of questions. So he/she goes ahead and does what their mind tells them is the correct solution, and as he or she walks out of the exam room, they have an unbeatable confidence, that tells them, “everything that you answered is correct.” But thing is that, they did not understand the problem in the first place, that’s why the solution was gotten blindly.

“It isn’t that they can’t see the solution. It is that they can’t see the problem.” - Gilbert K. Chesterton

Been there, done that … (disclaimer : but not the above), at least I used to listen in class and apply … lol. I have been at the stage where I leave the exam room and I am sure that I got it correct until I meet a classmate who deflates my intelligent ego by telling me it’s not correct, and theirs begins to sound a bit more convincing. But when you were in the exam room, you were 100% sure you can get 100% if you marked for yourself. In your head, everything is working out correctly, but clearly that’s not what the lecturer is seeing,—> that’s because the lecturer clearly understands the problem —->Now is when I’m thinking those funny percentages people use to get in maths is not because they are dumb, the answer lays within (consolation … yah! now get over yourself maybe you were dumb ha ha #joke).

I’m sure, as they were answering the question (pic above), they were using logic or the so called  common sense at their best, I mean for them, to actually be confident enough to come up with an answer like that, such that if you look you’ll understand how they came about to get the solution. They opted for the easiest way, they did not think beyond or better yet even use what they had learnt all through. In this case I mean the formulas  and all.

Just because you have an answer, doesn’t always mean that its correct or it’s right. Just because a problem has been posed and you have a solution doesn’t mean that you got it right. That’s why it’s said, “Experience is the best teacher” (Mr.Experience). Exprience gives you lessons each and every day, it draws up formulas for you. And every time a problem comes up, you are supposed to use those formulas to come up with the optimal solutions.

If you haven’t been through that problem before, I tend to think it’s allowed for you to give solution (like the above), that are wrong, unfounded … because when you get that 0% , teacher Mr.experience will teach you that that’s not how you solve that problem. Sometimes it doesn’t come easy, you have to research or be taught by other people who’ve been there done that (especially if you land in a public school, where no one spoon feeds you…lol).

All in all, for all problems there is an answer for sure, but it doesn’t mean, because you’ve answered  it, it’s going to be right … the rightness of the solution could be all in your head. Maybe that’s why it’s said that two heads are better than one, so that the other person(s) can beat some logic/sense into you.

“The only difference between a problem and a solution is that people understand the solution.” - Dorothea Brande

Did you know that,

“It’s so much easier to suggest solutions when you don’t know too much about the problem.” - Malcolm S. Forbes

Did he just say that!  Just in case you are one of those people (me included), it’s about time we stood in the side line and probably offered to listen more to get more information about a problem and provide less solutions that make sense, instead of many that don’t.

Quotes to ponder:

“Don’t tell your problems to people: eighty percent don’t care; and the other twenty percent are glad you have them.” - Lou Holtz —-> *sigh* Really? What do you think?

“I have yet to see any problem, however complicated, which, when you looked at it in the right way, did not become still more complicated.” - Poul Anderson —-> Yeah this so true! We over see or over think some (actually all) things … complicated becomes more complicated, simple is still complicated *sigh again*
