Whiney Friday

Thank God It’s Friday! Short days, short nights? We are being played somewhere or there’s some creature somewhere swallowing time. Picture a puffy face every morning with a groggy voice saying, “it’s morning already? You must be kidding me.” That’s me!

Random Thoughts

Be slow to anger, quick to forgive and just try your best not to judge *that’s me sugar-coating Don’t Judge*. Not the easiest of things to do, but that’s what I’d love to practice if am not already doing it. Because as long as there’s someone else in your life and you interact with them on a daily chances are that there are times they’ll piss you off but how you deal with it, is what makes the difference.

I’m Feeling

This Weekend

Books…Boo…Boo…Books…lol I need to just drain that in my head. Exams suck, why can’t we just learn? Isn’t going to school enough already, with participation, assignments, CATs and projects. Why exams? Like 3 questions condensing what you’ve learnt the whole semester…really? *let me just whine*, I’m in such a state *breathes in and out*. Hon. Mutula Kilonzo should ban exams too, the students get exam fevers and hence unhappy valid enough? #justathought

I’m Craving

I got the right combination of flavors, now I can fully enjoy my frozen yogurt without ‘eeewing’ on some flavors.

Songs of the Week

Big big big old school fan of Simple Plan! But I used to think this guys were such sadists because all their songs were about break ups, but heeey don’t we grow! I love this one and Sean Paul … me lovey!

I Want and Pray

I want to get over and done with my masters … as hard as it looks to be, I always need to be on top of  it. I pray for the same. Also a big thanks always to God for family and friends and for keeping them safe, healthy and happy. May he keep them that way.

Quote Of The Week

Some quotes are quite consoling, so that’s wassup! LOL, don’t fret over the small mistakes … just live and make sure you learn, so that you don’t repeat the same mistake over and over, routine mistakes, now that’s boring.

To an awesome weekend, to having fun, living, laughing and loving. Stay Safe. XO!

Simple…Gets Me

Do you ever find yourself attracted to the simplicity of the components of the world? To be honest, simplicity totally wows me and certain complexities put me off. I respect the people who’ve did rocket science, seeing as that’s the epitome of all complexities. Maybe, I should just start by explaining what I mean by simplicity so that we can be on the same chain of thought. We don’t want many dangling and cluttering chains now do we? One is good enough for now.

Simplicity is the property, condition, or quality of being simple or un-combined. It often denotes beauty, purity, or clarity. Simple things are usually easier to explain and understand than complicated ones. It is also a term used to denote candor, guilelessness, innocence, straightforwardness, and freedom from duplicity. Source

Simple doesn’t mean stooping low or aiming for average, it means that you’re able to enjoy whatever it is you have and make the most out of it in the best way you know. It seems like the easiest thing even by saying it, but I tend to think it’s one of the hardest things to actually attain. And if you do, then you’re definitely doing something right.

Funny how we sometimes get embarrassed by simplicity no? but in complete honesty, isn’t that the moment you’re at your happiest? It’s when you’re completely yourself because you don’t have to pick your brain so much on whatever it is you’re doing or saying, it just flows. Imagine picking your brain literally like with a pin, the harder you think, the more painful it becomes.

Ever  met someone and pull a, “he’s such a simple guy”. I am guilty of saying that so to say. What I mean is that, the person is not too uptight and they’re free around people hence making it easier to deal with them. Now I get why Leonardo da Vinci said that, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” I can actually relate.

“I was particularly won over by his sweet disposition, by his general kindness, by his simplicity, and by his friendliness” ~ Louis de Broglie, on the character of Albert Einstein

Sometimes you wonder what about you gets other people, I think your simplicity does. Once that’s done, everything else is pretty much a breeze. Making people try to know a lil’ about you by having them crack their brains doesn’t quite cut it. You end up looking and sounding cold when you want in the end is to create an aura of warmth. After all, it’s never that serious and you don’t have to try so hard…you just have to be you and that’s what simplicity is about.

Do what makes you happy not what makes others happy. If they really care about you, then what makes you happy will eventually make them happy. That’s how you measure who’s important and who’s important…lol and no, that’s not a typographical error.

Now that was with regard to people, but while you’re wondering about people, you could also wonder about gadgets. Then still while at it, you could probably compare. You like gadgets that make life much easier, basically that are more than functional. But don’t you like it when the functional bit is displayed in a way that’s user-friendly, in a way that you’ll understand what step to take next? Yes, no? I am one of those people who look for an interface I can understand, that’s simple. I think simple is beautiful, apple products speak for themselves, need I say more? (May God rest Steve Jobs in peace, I hope he turned and smiled in his grave…).

Don’t forget to be true to yourself,  to others and to say thank you. It’s Thursday, that day when if you forget to do that every other day of the week, Thursday’s give you that opportunity to be Thankful and Truthful.

Busy Bee Friday

Thank God It’s Friday! Days are just flying, the wings story is real. It’s good thing when you’re looking forward to something something, bad thing when you have deadlines to meet, even more frustrating when the deadlines are reaching and you haven’t managed to finish the workload, that’s the story of my week … pressure! That’s supposed to be healthy I guess? I just hope I don’t crack…lol

Random Thoughts

It’s the little things that make the biggest difference. And by little, I mean those things that you think are irrelevant or you probably feel like they won’t make a difference, I mean it’s just nothing but the usual. To you it’s that, to someone else it’s BIG. Giving a helping hand, calling up to check on someone, saying sorry or thanks e.t.c you could just be someones miracle, the reason they smile. So don’t take small for granted. After all little by little you know how that saying goes, I don’t know lol.

I’m Feeling

Friggin’ cold, as in this weather is out to turn us into ice cubes. All the same I am over the roof happy *cheeky grin* come ice-cubes or sun-rays.

This Weekend

One of my besties Vicky is getting hitched the traditional way :-) so there’s an engagement party a.k.a the ngurario/ruracio *I don’t know which is which* but where the groom comes to visit the girl and negotiate dowry or is it pay…oh my! I have quite some learning to do. School is getting in the way of this and that’s not in any way cool.

Besides that, whatever I’ll be up to is definitely bound to be fun. I mean you know how we roll…hehe

I’m Craving

I know right, like you wouldn’t believe, I can even taste it *salivates*

Songs of the Week

Kinda explains me right now *swoon* lol

I Want and Pray

Saying thanks for life and life in abundance. I want this semester to just end, the work load, jeez! It’s been tasking and now is when I’m realizing, eeh superwoman much. I pray for my friends, Vicky and Francis to have a breezy engagement party.

For love, light and peace in our relationships, family, friends and country. For my exams which are coming pretty soon (end of month) then I can be smart in choosing my course work next sem, no more Saturday classes *read torture*.

Seekers…Keepers

It’s one thing to know what you want or need,  it’s another to get it and another one to create room for those things once you get them because you eventually do. Problem is that if it’s not self-driven and by that I mean envision it, yearn for it or there’s nothing you’ve had to give up for it, you’ll feel short-changed. The satisfaction derived from that whole process should make you feel like you’re on some spaceship headed to the blue moon okay I just exaggerated but you feel me.

Well that’s just once in a blue moon, most of the times we get things that we thought we didn’t want or need or we actually wanted just had thought of them in a more *castle in the air* kind of way and they drive you off your tangent. That right there is what we call experience, because it’s usually an instance that comes and goes but leaves you some few lessons to learn from.

You have to go through a series of instances to actually figure yourself out first. Pretty sure it’s something we have all experienced in one way or another. For some not in the easiest of ways, for others things have come pretty easy it’s like you had it all aligned it for you. All the same, I think it’s always worth the experience, makes you appreciate what you get even more.

I have been through a couple of experiences myself, in work, at school, in relationships of different kinds … it’s just amazing. I know there’s someone out there thinking, amazing? *pops eyes* are you kidding me? Yeah, I guess that’s how I take it in. Maybe that’s why I’m still sane or that’s why you would see me smiling when I should be hitting the roof as I try to contain my hulk. Trust me we all have a hulk in us, or is this the point where I use singular terms like “I”, I have some hulk a.k.a Meru in me.

Sometimes you get yourself somewhere not because it’s the wrong place at that point time, it’s just a stepping stone to the next level. The next level of taking you towards where you want to be. That situation could be grooming you for what life has in store for you. That’s why I say it’s pretty interesting. Think of it that way and you could be somewhat comfortable with your situation. You know the beauty of it is that, lets assume something goes wrong at one point, you will be sad but it won’t last forever. We are all bound to experience different emotions at different time. Both the good and the bad. Sadness, disappointments, bitterness, is just but a part of them, so is bliss, joy, gratefulness and so on. I tend to think they do take turns, because nothing is perfect, no one is from the human perspective. So at one point you’re on a high, the next you’re at a low (you’ve got to know how to chase this one away once it checks in … low is not a sport, never quite looks good on you).

Point is, knowing what you want, better yet identifying what you need. An important aspect of this is that it lets you know what to keep and what to let go of (people, a character you hold, something material, it could be anything). What you keep can sometimes be what deters you from getting…no? Then again, you could get what you want but it’s not necessarily what you need or you could get what you need but not what you want…lol talk of life getting it all twisted, that’s its nature though. So lucky are you when you get what you want and need. It’s a plus knowing it, because it gets you to treasure what you’ve got more, work hard for it because you know its importance and make sure that it’s for keeps. Everything does count, it contributes to who you are, what you’re yet to be and last but not least what and who is linked to you.

In other non-related news,  the music I’ve been listening to these days. Who knew there was country gospel … pop’ish kinda music? She’s good, Jamie Grace (one song at a time album) on replay, so soulful!

Just saw this on my friends update and thought to share :-) since sharing is caring and seeing as I haven’t fed your minds in a while, these ones looks like some great lessons to adopt:

  1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
  2. Marry a man or woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
  3. When you say “I Love you” mean it.
  4. When you wrong someone, look at them in the eye and say “I’m sorry”.
  5. Love deeply and passionately. You may get hurt, but its the only way to live life completely.
  6. Talk slowly but think quickly.
  7. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
  8. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
  9. Remember the 3 Rs: Respect for self, Respect Others, Responsibility for all your actions.
  10. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  11. Spend some time alone.

Feel Good Friday

Thank God It’s Friday! Yaaay! It’s been an lovely week, one of firsts but I didn’t quite feel the newness other than of course the first day where everyone wonders who is this new girl on this neck of the woods O_O . It’s been a successful week all together, all’s well :-) Plus I’ve been sharing the happiness and having my purple o’clock (happy time) courtesy of Dairy Milk, thaaat chocolate. You should try out the ‘Dream’ or ‘Rum n Raisin’ on that note…YUMMINESS!

Random Thoughts

My new place of work is A.W.E.S.O.M.E . And the awesomeness just oozes out of the people. Then of course if the people are like that, it definitely trickles down to everything else. Basically, I’m gel’ing in, they’re all so welcoming and warm it’s amazing.

On things love. I must have mentioned somewhere that my favorite reality show is Ice Loves Coco though I haven’t watched it in a while now. Maybe I should just pay my DSTV. You start missing things when you talk about them. So today I came across Ice’s quotes. No wonder those two just look like they’ve got it all together, “Love isn’t looking somebody in the eyes; it’s looking out in the same direction.” ~ Ice T

I’m Feeling

Bubbly, giggly … lol. Feel good Friday for sure!

This Weekend

A hot date *cheeky grin*. Then, I have a study partner…lol so doing assignments shouldn’t be that boring. Chilling out, catching up,  movies (Spiderman 3 IMAX is out *woop woop*).

Snap! Two days for a weekend, feels like I’ve been short-changed already and it’s still Friday.

I’m Craving

That samsung S3, my current dream phone. Oooh I so want.

Songs of the Week

Just found out about her recently, ain’t she amazing? There’s so much talent around.

I Want and Pray

I want to thank God for the little and the big blessings in my life, those that I see and those that I haven’t yet seen. I know, cliché prayer but I actually do mean it —> Looks like it’s my repetition prayer at this rate, so thankful –> Clearly it still is even this week.
